Fairfield Townhomes at Islip

Poor rental management communication. I received an email to schedule a viewing then Russell started texting me and rescheduling and canceling the appointments, which was unprofessional. He also was diverting me to other apartments n communities and telling me that Fairfield of Islip(Central Islip) is vey expensive before I can be screened for my income. I wouldnt want to live there and I will definitely spread the word not to live there. I also noticed that their vacancy percentage is pretty high which tells me Russell is not a good property rental agent. The new eastview apartment complex next door was 100% better, more welcoming, availability for tours and friendlier.

Received lease documents to sign & noticed I was being charged rent for the 1st month despite the free month special I was offered. Lease docs had to get fixed. Then, I realized the docs stated I would not have to pay rent until 2 months later. I asked for docs to be fixed. The director told my lease agent he refuses to "fix the language" of the docs. Anyone else would have taken advantage of such a poorly written lease & refused to pay rent. I just wanted Fairfield to appropriately state what was expected for rent. I was told my 2nd month would be prorated verbally & the director refused to state that in the lease. Seems awfully shady to me. Russel, my agent, was disrespectful when I asked for the documents to be fixed. He accused me of asking him to hold the apartment for 3 weeks. I showed proof of a conversation where I said to release the apartment 1 week later after being approved. He also said he never has dealt with a person like me. I don't understand why I was degraded for requesting that legal documents are appropriately written? What a joke. He apologized. However, his behavior and the director for refusing to fix the lease documents left a bad taste in my mouth. It's no wonder people tend to leave terrible reviews for Fairfield properties/management. Yes this place is a beauty, but not worth the drama I was already dealing with. Save your time and look elsewhere. If you refuse to take my advice, my best suggestion is thoroughly review your lease documents.

Horrible. The tenants who live here in my building, they smoke and their children constantly run up and down. I regret getting a second floor unit. The noises are ridiculous and other issues as well. When you complain to management you dont even get a response.

DO NOT MOVE IN HERE. Everyone I speak to in this complex is definitively not renewing their lease when they're up. Bozzuto initially owned this property and the staff was friendly and there was always someone in the main office to answer questions. I have not seen a soul in that office since Fairfield took over and they straight up do not answer the phone or return calls. I know someone who wanted to let them know they're not renewing their lease and they have not gotten back to her in over 3 weeks since she began trying. You will be treated like a criminal here. They send us "reminder" emails that are so rude for no reason and lock up the AC units in communal spaces (I went to the gym last Wednesday and it was 85 degrees with no way to cool it down! I had to leave because I would have passed out!) They threaten fines if you leave the trash out past the prescribed times; however, several times our trash has not been picked up even though we are all paying monthly for this service. Rules for me but not for thee! Fairfield is monopolizing LI and we really need to fight back and not rent from their properties, which are dirty and horrendously run. BY THE WAY THIS IS NOT A TOWNHOUSE. You will be paying around $3000 for a one bedroom APARTMENT - there are 0 townhouses here!!! And then the utilities and extras on top of that. I've also heard that they're jacking up the rent even more if you stay - please beware and just do not do it. Our building is becoming more and more vacant and I really understand why. They are liars and crooks.

This is a gorgeous community. I wish it included at least 1 utility but the property and the amenities are amazing. The employees were helpful, friendly and attentive.
