I went and looked at these apartments, they were nice, cute little places, but being a full time student and not having anything to show official income that met their criteria, I ended up having to rent elsewhere. I paid a $40 application fee, which is standard and I knew Was non-refundable, but I also paid a $100 holding fee, before I knew that I wouldnt be able to move in, nowhere in the application did it say that the reservation fee was non-refundable, only the application fee. So I contacted the office to request my $100 reservation fee back and they said its non-refundable. I asked to be shown that in writing, to verify, if they could show me where I missed that in the application then I would let it go. I was then told that I would be getting a check. I never received that check, emailed the property 2 more times to inquire, and then 3 weeks later (which was more than 1 month after I initially viewed the property and paid the reservation fee) I got a check for $60. Not the $100 I paid, but $60.When I tried calling to ask about this (all I want is an explanation and I want to be shown in writing where all this is stated, thats all!) they do not answer their phones and no one returns my emails. This property is nice but the people are very unprofessional. DO NOT pay any fees unless you 100% know youll be able to move in because you will NOT get your reservation fees back, even though it does not state anywhere in the application or on the website that this is the rule.
