Local Reviews

I like that it's a historical location. It's right the street from several strip malls. Walmart and Chick-fil-A is a 5 minute walk.

It is a small neighborhood so we all know each other. We help each other out when somebody needs it.

I love how safe it is. I also love how quiet it is. I also love how it is very close to any restaurant or shopping area you want to go. It is very convenient.

The neighborhood is not that unique. There are nice restaurants nearby. There are parks for children to play at.

It's a small neighborhood and pretty much everyone knows everyone. A mix of young and old families. We never have to worry about anyone messing around while we are gone

Near schools and many churches, near major highway, grocery stores and shopping center, good police protectiony,

Living in Kernersville

In the middle of the 18th century, Kernersville's land was permanently settled by Irish immigrants. One of the first residents was William Dobson, a wealthy landowner who built a tavern that hosted George Washington in 1791. Throughout the 19th century, the community remained rural in nature until the railroad boom reached the central parts of North Carolina. In fact, the restored 1870s Train Depot in the downtown district stands as one of the oldest structures in town. If you're interested in living within walking distance of the South Main Street Historic District and North Cherry Street Historic District, rent an apartment in one of the town's central neighborhoods.

Today, more than 23,000 residents reside in Kernersville, which is one of the most populous communities in Forsyth County. The town's chamber of commerce strongly promotes local businesses that are mainly situated in the historic districts downtown and new plazas accessible from the exits of Interstate 40.

From the eclectic Korner's Folly mansion to the beautiful Paul J Ciener Botanical Gardens, there are plenty of attractions to explore in quaint Kernersville neighborhoods that are lined with residential properties for rent.

Being suburban in character, Kernersville's streets are best navigated by car. Public transportation in the town and the Piedmont Triad region is provided by Piedmont Authority for Regional Transportation buses.
