We like our apartment. Pool was great before it was shut down. This is a nice place to live if you don't expect too much and don't mind them accessing your personal space on a regular basis. Amenities are lovely when they work, and when the pool is not padlocked. Great community for dogs, though many residents think rules don't apply to them, so expect some free range animals and poop in your way. Maintenance staff is responsive but underfunded. Sometimes things break on the property and aren't replaced. Would it kill them to buy some extra receptacles so we don't have to look at cigarette butts all over the ground? Garages and storage units are a plus. Construction mess and noise and closing off our driveway through the complex: BIG minus.

They could start by handling just ONE of several issues. Most of their amenities are in none functioning or poorly functioning status. They feel no need to clean up dog waste that residents are too lazy to clean up. If you live on the first floor you can cozy up with cockroaches and other bugs of the night. If you have a neighbor that smokes in their non-smoking apartment, you just get used to smelling cigarette smoke. It's not their problem, you just live there. Let me guess, you LOVE parking at least 2 complexes away from your resident, right? (I mean who doesn't after a 12-hour shift?) Amberleigh has you covered there. Many residents have 3 or more cars, some even are allowed 5 plus a trailer and a boat!!! If your crazy neighbors happen to "take a shower with the curtain outside of the tub" and you get water coming through your ceiling, again no worries! Amberleigh will do nothing for you all over again!!! Enjoy these paper thin walls, by ease dropping on your neighbors, or listening to the melodic sounds of your upstairs neighbors riding their hover board around. (Don't worry, that sound will never go away, just like the smoke smell!)
Fun fact, this apartment complex's school district is Castle Hayne Elementary. Your children will need to be up and at the bus stop by no later than 6:40 am.
Lisa the property Manager and is impossible to contact. Courtney is the Assistant Manager here, and while she's nice to your face, she's basically useless. She'll tell you she's going to try all she can to address issues, and then do nothing!
I know all of the above seems like a lot, but trust me when I say read the google reviews. I wish I would have. We signed our lease sight unseen moving from across the country, and they took advantage at every step, then drove the point home. Make sure to read the bad reviews, as most places like this like to flood fake good reviews.

While I like the complex very much, there are too many instances where the gates are not functioning or even simply open. The idea of the gated community is to keep out those who should not be in the complex. I enjoy the amenities the complex offers very much and love that the gym is open all the time. I think that it would be helpful if the office was open just a tad later (6:30) since I work on the other side of town and often can't get there in time.

Amberleigh shores was a great place to live, it was very clean and felt safe. The office staff was pleasant and answered all questions that I had. The only drawback was there was a good amount of traffic to drive into the hospital for work once school started and maintainance came into the apartment for general maintainance about once a month, which I feel is pretty frequent.
