I lived at The Villager Apartments for 1 year and moved out a few months ago. I enjoyed the 'Coronado' layout (2 bedroom/2 full bath). The location of the apartment is great. It's very close to 675, so it's easy to get around to things like Costco, restaurants, malls, groceries etc. The management team during my time was great and team always took great care of any issues that came up. Anytime there was an issue, they were very responsive and got the maintenance team on it within 1-3 days, depending on the issue. I have some minor complaints about the complex which are the reasons I'm not rating it 5 stars... Firstly, their maintenance team, though effective in getting the work done, rarely put up notices that they were in the apartment. They would do a job but I would have no idea they had even been there (most of the time). Occasionally they would leave a notice on the door but not consistently. Some might argue that if I put the ticket in, why is it a big deal? I hear you, but, that apartment is my home and I like to know if someone has been inside it at any time. My other complaint is with the company that owns the complex (Birge and Held). They would add/increase fees during my time. For example, they charge every unit a $3 fee for pest control. They have around 240 units. 240 x $3 = $720/month. I find it hard to think they need that much each month to pay for this. They charge a $5 fee simply to process your monthly payment too. It just felt like the overarching business is getting a little greedy in their fees. Lastly, due a deal made by previous owners, you are forced to pay $40/month for Spectrum TV whether you want it or not. It's a great deal for the package, but if you are trying to save money, you might not be a fan of this. Overall, I really enjoyed my time here and would recommend it to friends looking to rent in the area. If I hadnt decided to buy a house, I would've renewed for another 1 year rental agreement.
