Overview of Cleveland

You and your four-legged friend will feel right at home in the pet friendly apartments in Glenville and East Cleveland. The neighborhood of Glenville is literally outlined by parks, gardens and green space perfect for a rambunctious puppy or a cat looking for a view. But the outdoors aren't just for the animals - the area is great for people looking to stay active and explore nature. Glenville apartments for rent are an ideal place to live for lovers of urban greenery, walking and jogging aficionados as well as pet owners.

Take a walk

No matter where your Glenville rental property is, you'll be close to a good spot for a walk. The residential area has sidewalks and low-traffic streets, making walking, running and jogging easy - perfect for pets and kids, too. From Glenville rentals, it's never too far before you can see green, whether it's the wooded parks near Martin Luther King Jr. Drive on the east or the connecting parks and playgrounds like Pattison and Forest Hills parks by Thornhill Drive to the west. The parks near MLK Jr. Dr. include the Cleveland Lakefront Nature Preserve, Gordon Park and Rockefeller Park with its beautifully landscaped Cultural Gardens and historical landmark bridges. Rockefeller Park stretches almost all the way to the Cleveland Botanical Gardens in University Circle. Walking through the parks is a great way to unwind - bring your dog to keep you company or just walk the route to clear your head.

If you head north from Rockefeller, past the Russian, Albanian and Italian gardens, past Sam Miller Park and near Gordon Park (a great place to play baseball), you'll find the most natural spot in Cleveland - The Cleveland Lakefront Nature Preserve. The preserve is a peninsula, sticking out into Lake Erie and forming the northernmost point of Glenville. Take a walk with your pet along the 1.75-mile perimeter loop trail at the preserve and observe a range of wildlife, from deer, fox, raccoons and coyotes, to butterflies, reptiles and amphibians. You can bird watch, too - nearly 300 species of birds have been recorded migrating through these grounds. Let your dog off its leash, sit back and look over the endless water - it'll wash away the hustle and bustle of city life.

Garden variety

If you like outdoor activities but you're really more into it as an amateur botanist, check out the Cleveland Cultural Gardens. Including Polish, Chinese and Indian gardens, there are 31 different gardens scattered to the south of the nature preserve within Rockefeller Park, so they're outdoors and pet friendly. Apartments in Glenville are very close to the Harrison Dillard Trails, which take visitors from one end of the complex to the other, while the paths among the stone terraces, fountains and pools allow Clevelanders to stroll through the rich history of American immigration and multiculturalism. The garden, built by students from Cleveland State University, showcases statues of select national heroes from each of the 25 nationalities represented.

You'll love the natural feel of Glenville and your pet will thank you. The neighborhood lets you have all of the benefits and culture of living in a city without sacrificing your outdoor passions or your furry friend.
