The city of Lancaster is located in central Ohio, approximately 27 miles southeast of Columbus. The city is situated in Fairfield County and considered part of the Columbus metropolitan area. Colonel Ebenezer Zane of Wheeling founded Lancaster on November 10, 1800, and it was incorporated as a town in 1831.

Pleasant is a well-known landmark in Lancaster; it is a striking rock formation that rises 300 feet above the surrounding plain, providing a stunning view of the town.
