Known as the "Sweetheart of Ohio," Loveland is located in the northeastern suburbs of Cincinnati. Loveland is a small town with just more than 12,000 residents, allowing the area to maintain a close-knit environment and typical Midwestern hospitality. People here are friendly and passionate about the good of the community, making Loveland a great place to raise a family. Look for Loveland apartments for rent, and find a charming town on the banks of the Little Miami River.
Colonel Thomas Paxton settled Loveland in 1795 between the Little Miami River and picturesque valleys of Ohio. The city was named after James Loveland, one of the first residents who operated the local general store in the early 19th century. As a stop on the Little Miami Railroad between Cincinnati and Xenia, Loveland experienced a rapid population growth. The Little Miami River separated East and West Loveland until a bridge brought the two sides together in 1872. The city was officially incorporated in 1961, and today Loveland is a flourishing community with residents who are passionate about arts and culture. Families live in Loveland apartments to take advantage of the outstanding school system and beautiful parks dispersed throughout the city.
Chateau Laroche, also known as the Loveland Castle, is one of the city's most exciting attractions. Built to honor the strength, valor, and manly purity of men bestowed with knighthood, visitors can enjoy picnicking, games and puzzles, information about Sir Harry Andrews, beautiful architecture, and a collection of swords and weapons. The Loveland Arts Council hosts an annual Winter Art Show that showcases the original works of artists from the tri-state area. Residents here also take advantage of numerous art, museum, and sporting events located a short distance away in Cincinnati.
