Good starter apartment near I-71 and Strongsville. I liked it enough to renew my lease for a two-bed, one-bath Read More apartment with two garage spaces (note: I am now paying $750 for all of that in year four).Positives: it is relatively inexpensive for how much square footage you get; except for electricity, utilities are covered; it is about a five-minute drive from the highway and is on the border with Strongsville; and most garages are now sectioned off with plywood.Neutral aspects: non-heated, community pool outside; our carpet is in need of replacement soon; your low-flow toilet may need to be corrected; laundry costs $1.50 per cycle. Storage lockers are available behind a locked door -- accessible with one's building key -- behind a locked door, adjacent to the laundry room; however, they are on the smaller side, and some of them sit on the ground.Negatives: no laundry-card-machines exist in each building, only in the main office, which can only be accessed during business hours; insects (e.g., ants, beetles, drain flies, hornets, etc.) can be problems, especially on the ground floor (pro tip: keep a small garbage can and take out trash/litter daily using a grocery bag to avoid fruit flies); the dishwasher may be installed too close to the wall; our walls should have been painted prior to us moving in, so insist on this being done BEFORE signing the agreement; electrical outlets are very loose; you may smell sewage on some nights, as the apartments are not far from the water-treatment plant; you may have to fight for parking at night unless you rent a garage space, which you must keep for the duration of the lease.
