Trotwood, located just outside Dayton, is within an hour's drive of the major metropolitan city of Columbus. Part of the greater Dayton metropolitan area, Trotwood serves as the perfect place for the daily Dayton commuter to rent a reasonably priced apartment.

Living in Trotwood

Formerly the village of Trotwood, the town was formed from sections of the more established Madison Township in 1901. Interestingly enough, the town's name comes from Betsey Trotwood, a character in Charles Dickens' iconic 1850 novel, "David Copperfield."

Currently, the township boasts over 24,000 residents. Since it is adjacent to Dayton, its convenient location makes it the ideal spot to rent an apartment for those working or going to school in the city of Dayton.

While the rent is affordable in these charming, safe neighborhoods and apartment complexes, Trotwood offers all the amusements of its nearby city counterparts without breaking the bank. You can check out the Hara Arena and watch the Dayton Demonz play some hockey or play a quick nine holes at one of Trotwood's world-class golf courses, including Moss Creek and Hara Greens.

In terms of public transportation, the neighborhood features a Greyhound bus station offering multiple daily trips to Indianapolis, Columbus, Detroit, Chicago and Cincinnati. It also offers a shuttle bus to downtown Dayton, which comes at a low cost and leaves the neighborhood hourly, 18 hours a day.
