There was no call or email to confirm the appointment at all. All I got were other apartment recommendations that were not in kennett square.

Absurdly large payments to the guy who unlocks your room if you lock yourself out.

The office manager was extremely petty and did not know how to remain professional. It was actually quite embarrassing. There were a group of other tenants we were close with and told them what happened to make them aware. They also started to notice unporfessionalism with the head office manager. You never argue with a tenant when the tenant reports an incident with the staff. I was taken back by her rudeness and the way she handled situation. We have lived in several complexes throughout the years and we never once had a problem with the others because management was always accommodating and respectful. That is not the case with the head office manager at Magnolia place. We don't recommend renting from them. There are better rental companies around the Wilmington, DE and Kennett Square, PA area.

I've heard noises on the roof at 12:30AM on Sunday nights, usually once every two months, from what sounded like a cleaning crew due to power washing sounds. I reported this to management and they did nothing except told me to call the cops next time. The walls and floors are paper thin. I had noise canceling headphones on while I was watching a TV show and could still hear the bass from my neighbors TV downstairs. Hallways and stairs used to be frequently cleaned. Not so much anymore. We had litter in the stairs last for over a week. The elevator also smells like dog pee.

Simply the cost verus quality is not there. Great location to live but for the cost the units should be better ventilated from inside to the hallways as well as sound proof. Quality of materials used to make the units wear easily and break often. And the units are small for the price in comparison to similar rentals in the area.

Great new spaces, modern look. Some noise from Victory but nothing too crazy

I asked for a unit facing the back parking lot during leasing discussion with the property manager, and was told that’s what I would get. I could not see the unit before moving in (probably occupied) so I stupidly just took her word for it. I was pretty upset to walk into a Cypress Street facing unit on move in day, but there were no other units available by that time, so I decided to just deal with it. Ended up being the least of my worries. This was a really unsafe place to live. There were at least 2-3 gas leaks in the single year I lived there, and people were constantly getting stuck in the elevators. Maintenance and other outside vendors were constantly barging in on me. They needed to come in for one reason or another 1-2 times per month and notice was really dicey. One time a random man just unlocked my door and walked right in on me half-clothed sitting on my couch LOL…not even a KNOCK let alone any notice. Turns out he was some third-party vendor that “made a mistake” or whatever. As a single girl living alone with nobody close by, I was super freaked out about all of these random men coming in and out all the time, and walking in whether I was decent or not. I gave my grievances to the property manager whenever something like this happened and one time she was just like “don’t worry he’s married haha” or something like that. Seriously?! Also, not sure what’s up with the black dust that comes out of the vents. I dusted every night and still woke up to a layer of soot-like debris all over the place. Can’t be good to breathe all that in. Finally, the location is just really loud and chaotic. Aside from the loud street traffic, the area is undergoing a ton of construction, and the Victory Brewing below the apartments regularly leaves their outdoor speakers on overnight, which were conveniently located right beneath my bedroom window. Overall, this place is just a bad idea. Would not recommend

Magnolia and their owners treated us horribly in our apartment. We were charged for “breaking” our lease despite fearing for our safety due to several incidents, which the management did nothing about. We could hear every word, footstep, and breath from our upstairs neighbors, given no evacuation notice to a gas leak and no follow up, and I was never informed of the building’s history before signing a lease (it had exploded 15 months before). The road next to the building is extremely loud, and construction next to it made it hard to have any quiet enjoyment. My partner’s post was deleted previously, so hopefully you get to hear the honest truth before signing. Would not recommend living here!

Lived here for about 3 years, aside from the occasional power outages during storms, it was a great place to reside. After the fire happened here, The management company was very professional and helped the residents move out/coordinate the off boarding of residents. when I moved out, they returned my security deposit in full as well as outlying credit in a check without having me to chase them down. Other management companies may try to screw people over but Magnolia was not like those companies. Very professional and I would've continued living here if not for the fire.
