Nittany Garden Apartments

I wish I could give zero! But let say: One star just for the location of apartments which are close to bus stop and enough free parking lots. I lived there for a year and am really dissatisfied with my choice for below reasons: 1. Apartments are old and their amenities are old. The AC at our unit couldnt push the heat through the ducts and vents and blow it inside the bed rooms and nothing coming out from the vents inside each room, the vents inside living room were better because of being close to the source of furnace. I complained several times and their response was: keep rooms door open to warm air can enter from living room to bedrooms!!!!! and we spent all th State College harsh winter with two electrical heaters. Utilities were not included in the rent, so me and my roommate paid roughly 1000$ more during peak season for heating! Same scenario for summer as cooling weren't good working. 2. Public areas like stars never been cleaned. 3. The dryer was not working properly at our apartment and we forced to use one in beside apartments. 4. They asked for 1000$ deposit and they returned us just half of this. They charged us 500$ for general cleaning (230$) + paint (40$) and carpet cleaning (130$) while we cleaned entire the apartment step by step based on their move-out regulations! I know carpet cleaning is a regular thing and I didnt have any problem for paying that but 230$ for general cleaning is ridicules! The apartment when we gave back the key were much cleaner than one we receive a year before! Totally, I DONT SUGGEST THESE APARTMENTS AFTER ONE YEAR LIVING THERE AND NEVER GO BACK AGAIN.

While the office staff is helpful and good. I sometimes have issues with the maintenance staff. Currently i'm trying to get something fixed, have called emergency maintenance but have yet to receive word of whether or not it was done. Sometimes i don't know if the maintenance crew actually fixed the problem or just patched it until the next time it breaks.

rental office people do not follow up on renters complains/inquiries in a timely manner .

I have lived there for four years. They never change the carpet. At the end of Lease, they charged 400$ for professional carpet cleaning.
