Even though two other early towns along the north bank of Savannah River were overtaken by the commerce of Augusta, Ga., to the south, the carefully planned development of North Augusta in the early 20th century was more tenacious, and the neighbor to the Georgia city has become a bustling home to commerce, recreation and good living.
Today, more than 21,000 people live in North Augusta, which continues to offer a sedate small town alternative to its larger southern neighbor. Residents of North Augusta apartments can take advantage of its many amenities, which include easy access to great local athletics, outdoor activities and cultural attractions, in addition to enjoying beautiful antebellum architecture and a local sense of tradition.
The area is home to many great institutions.
