I am writing this review to make people aware of the current situation at Granby Oaks Apartments. If you look at the reviews written it says they have a 4.6 rating. That is not accurate for today. If you look at the reviews none of them are recent all our 2020 or earlier. When those reviews were written it was under different owners and different property manager. The property earlier this year has been sold to new owners and along with them came a new property manager. The atmosphere and what used to be a great place to live has gone steadily downhill. The new owners have come in and raised the rents by $400 or more and have forced many long time residents to leave do to the affordability. These are people have lived there 10yrs or more. The new property manager is not attentive to the residents needs and the maintenance people have been leaving for new jobs as well. So maintenance requests are not being done in a timely manner at all. Its so sad, what used to be a great place to live is no longer that. The new owners are doing what they call Renovations to the units, which means they are painting walls, replacing bathroom vanities, new floors, granite counter tops, and average to fair new stainless appliances. The stoves are new but are electric coil burner stoves. There are no microwaves, except select units. None of the cabinets have been replaced in the kitchen, only re-painted. The windows and sliding glass doors are old, drafty, and need to be replaced, not done. They have added washer and dryer connections to those units that didnt have them, but at the expense of losing closet space. There are basically no amenities at Granby Oaks Apartments, other than the swimming pool. These Apartments are 50yrs old and need to have many upgrades done, like electrical, windows, doors, sliders, etc. These units are way overpriced for what you are getting and the age of them alone is something to consider.

The grounds are well-kept and established. Neighbors are friendly. The pool is very nice.

The Management And Staff Are Very Friendly And Quick To Respond To Any Problem You May Have. The Area Is Very Peacefull And Very Well Kept. I Have Enjoyed Living Here For The Past Three Years.

I am very happy with Granby Oaks Apartments, generally. I suggest greater security, such as cameras along the roads and between the buildings. Insulation needs to be placed in the attics to conserve heat and electricity. My living room, hall and dining room carpet is worn out. The kitchen floor is not much better. Ground fault outlets should replace the old ones in the bathrooms and kitchen.

I have enjoyed living at Granby Oaks since April of 2006. I enjoy the neighbors and the sense of community. We have been blessed with terrific office managers. One office manager in particular made the residents feel as if we were family. The apartment gives me the opportunity to walk to various areas in West Columbia. I am also minutes from downtown.
