This is a deserted apartment complex, an absolute ghost town. Im literally the only tenant on my part of the property. Theres times where I go days or even a whole week without seeing another person. When I moved in I was without hot water not for a week, not for several weeks, but for 2 MONTHS. Is that even legal? Office staff literally changes every month. They lost my records and claimed I had to pay my rent again...proceeding to give me an eviction notice for being delinquent. They pulled this on all my neighbors. Luckily I had a receipt, to which they said sorry. But it gets better: They lost my contract and claimed my rate did not include all bills paid, which was the only reason I move to this property. I found my copy and submitted it.. to which they answered oh yeah, we found your contract, youre fine. Theyre literally trying to cheat everyone by having us sign up for all-bills-paid rate and then refuse to honor it unless you can prove it..cause they conveniently lost their records. (A friend of mine said "oh, then im not binded" and moved out) I cant wait till my contract is up.

Updated review. After a few trips to the leasing office, I have been moved to a newer unit. It is clean, surprisingly more spacious and the bathroom looks to have been recently updated. After my second trip to the office, the employees really were concerned about the pest problem in my unit. When things didn't get better, they showed me at least 4 different units to choose from. I have NO complaints about the employees in the leasing office. They were a great help and Maria in maintenance is absolutely wonderful. She stops to make sure everything is good whenever she see me. Improvements are being made to the property, so here I felt compelled to leave an updated review!

I moved in about 6 months ago and I am seeing this complex improve every week! Management did change but the new staff are very pleasant and always helpful when my roommate and I have questions. They completely remodeled the gym, game room, and movie theater and added some really nice outdoor furniture by the pool. I am very excited to see what is next! Maintenance requests are handled in a timely manner and we are always given ample notice of any work being done that may affect us. The rent is reasonable and the location is perfect for me as I am a student at TAMU. Living across from the mall is another perk for me too :)

I will admit this staff has worked with me better then the old one did. But other then that I have had problems with this place almost from day one. And when I put it in my move in report they never fixed it. Maintenance looked at it and said they came and talked to me when they never did. The railing on my stairs was s flimsy and rusted that you couldn't put any pressure on it at risk of breaking it even more (took them 6 months to fix) and nothing on in that list was fixed so when they asked me with 3 months left in my lease if I wanted them to fix my problems I said no I move out soon and it's all yours. The other biggest problem I have is they, on multiple occasions, have tried to unlock my door to get into my apartment after I have on several occasions asked them to not do so cause I want to be home if they come in cause I don't trust anyone that's not me or my family to go in my apartment when I'm not there. Simple request I thought. Nope. (And yes I know they have cause I've been home but work nights and they always come at the most inopportune times when I'm trying to sleep before work. I have told them that and that I don't want them in my apartment when I'm not there multiple times and they still always try to come in. Kinda over it by now. Ready for my lease to be over with this plus much more that has only gotten worse in the year that I've been there. Don't live here. You'll find better places for better money else where in town. Not worth it

The worst manager ever. Multiple water shutoffs without any notice, no hot water for a few days again without notice, no pest control for more than a month, and RUDE staff. The apartment is old and filthy.

Today should have been my move in day but due to the apartment not being cleaned, rid of roaches and dead spiders. The carpet coming up in multiple places threw out the apartment and holes in the laminate flooring in the kitchen... my move in date has been set back. The ASM told me that they dont think any of the carpet or flooring should be replaced after she took a look, even with the holes and the ripped up carpet in both rooms and it coming apart at the bathroom door. Also they will not replace the flooring in the kitchen that has more than enough holes and scratches threw the floor. That they will get a worker to simply patch the holes in the carpet and lay the carpet down correctly this time. At this point i want everyone who is interested in castlerock apartments to do a full walk threw before signing any of your paperwork even ON your move in day as i was told that it was move in ready before i picked up my keys and when i got there it was far from that! First impressions are everything and as of right now i will not refer anyone to castlerock apartments. I hope that when i go back next week the apartment will actually be move in ready.
