Nice clean place

My experience with Centerpoint Apartments was good. I lived there for a year and had no problems. I paid my rent on time (or early), had several maintenance issues which were addressed and interacted with none of my neighbors, by choice. I rented the apartment as a quick fix when moving to the Dallas area and rented at the complex sight unseen. My initial intent was to rent an efficiency unit but chose a one bedroom unit. I had no issues at all with the complex or their management.

We had a combative experience with Kendra upon move-out. Wish we had ignored the positive reviews here which seem to mostly be coaxed about the move-in experience. You will see their true colors when it matters most - when you try to move out. Do yourself a huge favor and Google 'Centerpoint Apartments and Dallas Observer'. There are two eye opening articles that are very similar to what we experienced. (When we tried to pay, Kendra frequently used the words 'lawyer' and 'collection agency' as if they're shields for her ruthless and heartless actions.) One article is titled 'At Centerpoint Apartments, Moving Out Often Means a Trip to Court (and a Fat Bill)' and the other is titled 'Litigious Apartments Freeze the Bank Account of Grandmother Who Never Lived There'. Here are quotes taken from both articles: "an apartment complex owned by a family of debt collectors and known for aggressively suing its tenants, in a courtroom whose judge has never ruled against them." "The 700 suits don't include regular evictions, but instead are for offenses such as excessive cleaning fees, "damage beyond normal wear and tear" and breaking leases early." "The complex is operated by the Zidell-Susman Co" "a debt collection agency called JSZ Financial" "At Centerpoint, the Zidell tradition appears to be taking tenants to court. The complex has filed more than 700 lawsuits against tenants since 1996, records show, far more than similarly sized buildings. That doesn't include simple eviction cases or the hundreds of times Centerpoint has asked a court to freeze the bank accounts of defendants it's successfully sued." These articles were written in 2013 and 2015 so the lawsuit count is likely higher today. And if these lawsuits, lawyers, collection agency, and combative management doesn't scare you, the roaches in the apartment and sketchy people in the parking lot at night just might. The only good thing about the place is the maintenance guy greets you with a smile.

Courtney and Dan are very attentive and courteous and maintainence is very responsive usually responding within the same day to requests. They have a friendly security guard whos father also works for the company and likes to get to know the residents, the complex is very secure with gates and is one of the cheapest in the area in terms of the amenities. There are three small gyms in the apartment complex for the residents. The bad thing about the leasing office though is that even though it states on the lease in section 7.3, that the lease can be terminated if the tenant is facing violence, they would not let me terminate the lease even though I had two police reports showing I was in fear of my safety. I had to hire a lawyer which cost so much that I was placed in financial desperation. So if you end up being a victim of domestic violence or violence in general and fear for your safety, good luck. This leasing office will let you die and collect the money from your corpse. *Edit Its currently July 2023 and this apartment complex is STILL charging me rent even though they know I had to move for safety reasons. This is the most corrupt leasing office Ive ever had to deal with and am currently in contact with the better business bureau, a lawyer, and the local media.

Had a good experience getting into my new apartment. Sandra Soto was very helpful in taking me through all the steps and was very patient with me. The apartment is exactly what I needed, even my cat will be pleased.

The #1 thing I look for in an apartment complex is fidelity. CenterPoint Apartments sure fits the bill in overall fidelity. Courtney Kniatt's fidelity is top of the line and really aligns with the overall mission of the CenterPoint Community.
