You can trace the roots of Madera Residential back to 1991, but the story really started in 2008 when we bought our first apartment deal, The Lakes at Madera in Baytown, Texas. We received more than just our name from this property. We acquired it just before Hurricane Ike devastated the area in September 2008 followed by the financial crisis hitting in October of 2008. Looking back, this was a very challenging time for Madera Residential, but we now know the lessons we learned shaped who we are today.The most important lesson we learned is that by leaning into relationships and doing the right thing we can weather any storm. The proof of this is The Lakes at Madera ending up being a massively successful property. In April of 2010 we bought our second property with the help of the same investors that invested with us in The Lakes at Madera.Since then we have continued to aggressively grow our portfolio to where we are now considered an industry leader in the state of Texas. Our corporate office is located in Lubbock, Texas which we feel is a competitive advantage. Our vision is to continue to expand our influence of adding value to people and communities across Texas and beyond.

    Maintenance issues are resolved at an extremely slow pace. Request for sprays for pests often take weeks to be addressed. AC units are old and in disrepair, and when they break down are patched up with parts from existing or older ac units. Owners and property supervises are less than pleasant and often leave the office phone going to voicemail through the day. Would go into office instead but they are often out of office and will return soon with no time left.

    Customer service was overall not great, had pest problems repeatedly expressed (mice and roaches - they would only put down a couple traps and spray for bugs - no prevention), pools always closed, laundry stolen from laundry facility, entrance and exit gates almost always open or broken, pet stations w/o trash can or bags, apartment smelled like smoke possibly from neighbors and air duct cleaning didn't help anything (ruined clothes and luggage)

    lack of entry and exit gates, fence stays in ill repair due to this and tenants are blamed, dangerous area, lack of parking spaces and resident manager felt it was appropriate to reserve herself two spots for one vehicle and her car straddled both, then she moved all her lowlife friends with non-running vehicles in for free and kept maintenance busy cleaning her place while residents needed repairs made, not enough locks, painted over countertops, doors that won't lock or shut properly.
