Frisco, TX, located near Dallas and Fort Worth, is a thriving, economically prosperous city in Collin and Denton Counties. With a "Tree City USA" distinction by the National Arbor Day Foundation, and accolades from Forbes as one of America's 25 Best Places to Move, Frisco stands out as an environmentally progressive and family-friendly city ideal for renting an apartment and establishing roots.
Frisco, originally incorporated in 1908, was known back in the day for its rich farming soil and its roleas a trade center for the surrounding farming community.
Today, Frisco, with a population surpassing 140,000, is one of the fastest growing cities in the country. A commuter town for many who live and work in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, the city also offers a robust economy of its own, as well as an abundance of recreational activities.
Athletics and sports fans renting apartments here will also find that Frisco a good match for their lifestyle. The Frisco Athletic Center features a comprehensive list of exercise equipment as well as aquatics centers. If you love being outside, try your hand at Frisco's new mountain bike trail, and adventurers should check out Canyons Rock Climbing Gym, a 10,000 square foot rock climbing wall that reaches 30 feet high.
Sports fans will find that there is an endless list of games to attend. Catch a RoughRiders Class AA minor league baseball club at Dr Pepper ballpark, or check out a FC Dallas soccer game at Toyota Stadium, otherwise known as "Pizza Hut Park." And in 2016, look forward to the Dallas Cowboys moving their corporate headquarters here.
In terms of public transportation, Frisco is served by TAPS Public Transit. The buses run Monday-Friday from 6am-5:30pm, and do not provide services on the weekend. So while there are options available, it probably would not be the best idea to ditch your wheels.
If you are moving to Frisco for higher education, you have a number of options to choose from. The University of Dallas' Carrollton Campus, UT Arlington's MBA campus, as well as Collin College and Amberton University are all based in Frisco.
Some of the predominant employment industries in Frisco are in the education, telecommunications, and pharmaceutical sectors, with some of the primary employers including Frisco Independent School District, T-Mobile USA, and Amerisource Bergen Specialty Group, among others.
