Burglary, raw sewage flooding, cockroaches, and the type of management that will cheat as much money from you Read Moreas possible before you finish your lease. Welcome to the Terraces on Brompton. For a more lengthy review from me, check out Yelp.
My unit flooded with raw sewage twice during my time here. Management produced the absolute minimal amount of effort in fixing the issue. I was left without a home because they didn't think it would be important to inform me that the unit would be unlivable for 4 days. After a lot of arguing and being passed around to different staff members of varying authority, they finally gave me the requested amount of 1 month of free rent for my troubles. When I moved out, they tried to charge me for carpet shampooing. Insane.
Two months before my lease ended, my unit was burglarized in the middle of the day. It traumatized me. I filed a police report, spoke to insurance, and reached out to management multiple times for help. I asked to break my lease because I obviously didn't feel safe at the Terraces on Brompton any longer - so why would I finish up my lease? Completely ignored. I never heard a single thing from management. The cherry on top was when I moved out, they refused to refund an overpayment of $925.00. It took multiple calls, emails, and two certified letters of demand for them to give in and provide me with a full refund.
If you ever find yourself in the same position as me, DON'T BE AFRAID to demand compensation for your troubles. Management will feign ignorance and say that there's nothing they can do, but insist. They can compensate you. Document EVERYTHING (photos, video, emails, phone calls, times that you contacted them, who you talked to, etc.), follow up constantly, and build a case in the event that you need to take them to court. You won't need to go to court - they'll pay you to avoid that - but the key here is to stand your ground.

Right after we moved in the elevator for our building broke. I was 9 months pregnant with my second child. The Read Morey never fixed it. We lived on the third floor and almost never got hot water, it was usually room temperature unless it was an odd hour like 2am. In the summer the coolest our apartment ever got was 81 degrees and our electricity bill was over $300!!! BUT, the office staff and maintenance people were nice and friendly and the grounds were well kept and we felt safe there.
