Local Reviews

Elderly neighbors. Quiet neighborhood. Neighbors watching out for each other. Waving at neighbors Hoa keeps up the outdoor areas. Locked doors.

My neighbors greet each other with a smile, look out for each other, and will do favors for each other.

We live by the ocean and it's nice to be able to take the kids to the beach. We have schools and store close by.

I love the affordability of our neighborhood and the proximity to stores, the beach, schools and parks. We love going downtown to the bars and restaurants or the closeby beaches.

Pine Valley is located in Midtown Wilmington. We are close to the Cameron Art Museum and Halyburton Park.

It is a newer neighborhood. The houses are new, and the streets are clean. There are a lot of restaurants and grocery stores close by.

About

Orange, TX

Overview of Orange

Orange is the seat for Orange County and is the eastern most city in the state of Texas. Known as the "Gateway City," it borders with Louisiana and is located on the Sabine River. It is approximately 113 miles from Houston, making it ideal for apartment renters to enjoy a small-town charm while still being about to commute to the surrounding areas of a larger city.

Living in Orange

Orange is part of the Beaumont−Port Arthur Metropolitan Statistical Area. The city was founded in 1836 and is a port to the Gulf of Mexico.

The city began to rapidly expand after 17 sawmills were built during the late 19th century, and it became the main city for the lumber industry in the state. Immigrants soon occupied the region, and a courthouse was built. The Port of Orange Harbor accommodated large ships during World War I, and the population grew even more. Thousands of houses were built for servicemen after a U.S. Naval Station was added after World War II, and the population increased to around 60,000 people.

The city's population is just over 18,600, and it is a partner in the Preserve America initiative, which places a high emphasis on maintaining the historical culture of its origins. Tourists can visit the U.S.S. Orleck, a Navy destroyer that was built in the city in 1945, which is now on display downtown.

Apartment renters love the downtown vibe of the city and that it is artistic and rich in history. In fact, the Old Orange Historic District even protects the neighborhood's distinct large trees by mandate. Tourists love to visit the Heritage House Museum and the Heritage History Museum, which features an annual celebration of their culture. Outdoor enthusiasts also love participating in the Texas Historical Commission's Texas Forest Trail, which offers a glimpse at beautiful, scenic views. Living in the city provides an excellent opportunity to engage in its charm, while still having the advantage of cheaper rent.

The city is conveniently served by Interstate 10 as well as the Port of Mexico seaport, which offers a diverse range of economic benefits. Apartment renters find that the interstate makes transportation effortless. Nearby Jack Brooks Regional Airport and the County Airport also offers transportation to larger areas. Exit 880 is within the city limits and is the highest numbered exit and mile marker in North America. For individuals who prefer public transportation, the South East Texas Transit and the County Transportation services are great options. If you're considering moving to this city, you can easily make your way from the apartment you rent in your desired neighborhood to wherever you may need to head for work or school.

Apartment renters love that they can easily commute to Lamar State College-Orange, which is part of the Texas State University System. Nearby Lamar University and Lamar Institute of Technology in the city of Beaumont are both popular choices for commuters.
