Thornbury at Chase Oaks

Unfortunately, this property has had a gradual decline over the years. It takes ages to get basic maintenance requests completed. Always shot down saying that it is not an emergency. It took us 3 weeks to get the toilet flush repaired and so one of the toilet was unusable for that period. Maintenance staff and front office folks (lots of turnover, btw) are good and friendly. However, management does a really poor job since they don't recruit more of the maintenance folks and so they cannot service requests even if it is a little urgent. Otherwise, parking situation is a little horrible. The hallways are so DIRTY and they do not clean it. Attics seem to be infested with birds and squirrels but no action although I had brought it to their notice. It seems to me that the management is very PETTY and they try hard to make money on the renters expense on things that are unwarranted: - From a policy standpoint 60 day notice to vacate seems too much. It really offsets any advantages this property has. - Gate code: I don't understand why should a resident pay $50 in NON-refundable cost for the primary gate dongle (not even a spare). I understand if it is a refundable deposit which is the practice almost everywhere since it is given back to the leasing office upon vacating the apartment. The manual gate code is almost always broken and so they make it very hard to not have the gate dongle. Why is the management making money on this? The good things are : Location, friendly and helpful maintenance staff and good floor plans. I will not recommend this place to anybody until the management gets it right.

Nice complex and surrounding area. Parking situation was okay. I wasn't over-charged just to park in a covered space.

First move in at Thornbury was nice although the apartment was not full ready, Management work with me to get everything up to part swiftly. The first management team was awesome. The area surrounds the house was very wonderful. The inside of the apartment were some nice amenities. You were able to park anywhere with no charge, which was very convenient. Shortly afterwards or months later there were so many changes. For instance,different management team, staff members leaving, and as well as the maintenance crew were different. The work order would take a while or couples weeks before they were completed. Assigned parking was a nightmare as well as the cover charge. I would think you could park anywhere and pay instead of the other way around. There was always trash , and dog poop on the property, dumpers stay full, even thought they offer curb pick up, and as well old cars. It was becoming like a junk yard. I like Avalon @Chase Oaks a lot better very funny they are sister properties. I am the person like to give credit were it is do. However, Thornbury at Chase Oaks was a disappointment.

The location and amenities are great, however management can be hit-and-miss. The buildings themselves are starting to show some age as well, but are an acceptable deal for the price.

Neighbors above us have children that run like wolves all day and late at night. Leasing office does not reprimand neighbors. They say they do. However, if this occurred the noise would stop. I now understand why these apartments have such a low rating.

I've had multiple issues with maintenance, staff professionalism, and regard for resident needs.
