Please do yourself a favor and don't move in here. This place falling apart, overpriced and just simply a terrible place to live in. The elevators always break so make sure you like using the stairs. Their latest addition was to remove the guess parking and replaced it with Pango. So forget about having any guesses over. They also shut down the water for maintenance every few weeks.

On Saturday June 22, I turned in my keys to move out of my apartment and tried schedule a move out inspection. I was told that I could not present at move out inspection, because I had to give a 24 hour notice to schedule the move out inspection. I was never notified about the 24 hour notice of move out inspection. I was told that coming in on Monday during my lunch hour would be too late because the inspection would be done at 8 am. I then told the staff I would miss work and come in at 8 am or whenever the first staff would arrive to do the move out inspection. I was told like a broken record that because of the size of the property, they require a 24 hour notice. As a tenant, am I to be aware and a fortune teller to know their notification policies that I was never notified about? I was eventually told that I could come in at 9 am for the move out inspection, but there would be no guarantee that it would not have already taken place and they cannot hold up apartments. As far I can tell, in Virginia, a tenant has the right to be present for the move out inspection. When I called the office staff to let them know that I had the right to be present at the move out inspection, the lady on the phone acted like I was being unreasonable for not giving them the notification that I was just supposed to magically know about out of thin air. She was short and abrasive and told me I could be present for the move out inspection. I am truly disgusted with Mason at Van Dorn for this among other things. I was trying to leave peacefully without divulging any of the issues I have had with this rental property. Mason at Van Dorn does not make this easy.

Love how peaceful this place is. Not crowded at all. Love the gym and they have a nice social room. They dont rent it out for occasions though and thats a red flag right there. Parking is horrible here. They gave away most of the parking spots that are close to the buildings to the residents that are willing to pay for it. The rest of us have to walk 5 minutes sometimes 7 to get to our apartment. Imagine when you are pregnant, have groceries or when its winter. And ow! they are very pricy. They add loads of money each year when you renew your lease.

The apartment photos are very misleading. The leasing office, movie theater and gym were very nice. However, the commumity was not well kept; there were loads of stuff on balconies, the elevator was lighting was very dim (I was told that is how they are suppose to look....yeah ok). The halways were very dim also. Upon arriving at the apartment unit (Elite) the kitchen was nice with upgrades however the living room was small and the washer/dryer was in the bedroom...I've never seen that before. Upon leaving the apt. building there was a lot of loud music blaring and one neighbor screaming across the balcony at a neighbor to turn the music down. Very misleading.....

I lived at EOS from 2012-Dec 2015. The staff was always friendly, and the maintenance team always fixed everything fast, and correctly. It is a very diverse community and I met a lot of nice people over the years. They always have great once a month happy hours for the residents and the onsite mini store always came handy. Great place to live.
