I would not live here. Let me just state that up front there are multiple places I would go before here around Read More this area. Unfortunately I started a new job, was in a rush and signed into a lease before I found out what a huge mistake I made. They showed me a nice apartment, quite right behind the club house, but told me mine isn't ready to be viewed. When I come back to move in it wasn't until a week after I move in that I find out my place has a bus stop right outside the window runs 5am to 11pm. (Oh ya if you do live here don't live near the main street you wont get sleep). I asked to move apartment and they tried to charge me $300 more for the same style apartment. Ive been here 5 months within those months Ive had 5 instances of water damage from faulty toilets, pipes breaking, pipes overflowing, and the maintenance staff is there is 3 out of the bunch that actually know what they are doing. Add in the fact that weve had multiple break ins into cars in the actual garages we pay to park in. They talk about having to keep our patios clean, mine is so dirty with broken siding and vents I stepped out their twice when I moved in and haven't since. Just recently some random person took to righting graffiti on walls and elevators pointing out huge things that need to be fixed that the management company im sure has no intention of fixing. I asked to be let out of my lease but it will cost me 3 months rent or I find a sublease and theres no way im getting someone to take this apartment without straight lying to their face. I tried to power through but im fed up now and had to post a review. Sooooo again DONT LIVE HERE.

I've lived here for 4 years. Overall, I would say it's been a pleasant experience. There are some great aspect Read Mores to living here, but there's definite downsides too. Some of them I would consider to be pretty serious. Cons. First and foremost, the WATER LEAKS. .. it is a FREQUENT problem here! Pipes and water heaters burst regularly in my building causing flooding and water damage in the apartments! Parking can sometimes be an issue if you don't want to pay extra monthly for garage space. Spots go quickly on weekend nights and there's really no street parking to speak of. Rent is on the pricey side for the space you get. My rent has gone up every year since I've been here and I pay over $1500 for a 615 sq ft 1-bed before utilities. Water/sewer utilities are charged based on building average rather than individual usage. There's also some cash-grab fees. Walls are thin, so you may hear neighbors upstairs walking or even opening/closing doors.
Pros. The location is very convenient, being right beside 395/95. It's only a few minutes away from Old town Alexandria and about 15 min from DC. The metro is close and the property has a free weekday shuttle for tenants that use metro. There's also a nice park and some running trails within a few blocks. The staff are fairly polite and helpful. Maintenance is prompt. Work requests are almost always taken care of the day after you submit. The apartments themselves are pretty nice too, particularly the roomy walk-in closets and bathrooms. It also generally feels very safe and is quiet The grounds are well-kept. Most of the people here seem to be decent and considerate neighbors too. Again, the only real issue I've had is that some tenants seem to be negligent with their pets. If you are considering living here, my advice would be: 1) be aware that you rent will probably go up 2) check your water heater when you move in and note any leaks or corrosion. Be mindful of any items susceptible to water damage.

Constant flooding of my apartment, management is unfriendly if you come to them with an issue. They lied and s Read Moreaid i had to purchase the security alarm to rent (Its an option), the water bill doesn't make any sense and i am considering legal action along with several other tenants. I will not be renewing my lease!

I've lived here for 5+ years. I love the location, the quick response time of maintenance, and overall vibe o Read Moref the complex. The only thing I dislike is the price increase every year; there is no discount for those who have been loyal residents with no late payments on rent and no complaints.
