Avalon Arlington North

Avalon Arlington North has gone severely downhill over the past four years. First of all, customer service is nonexistent. The people who work on-site in the office have no power to make any changes. Decisions are made in their corporate office, and corporate doesnt care about current residents. Especially during the lease renewal. It was much better when the on-site people were empowered to communicate with residents and make actual decisions. The corporate people, such as Taylor C and her boss, are incredibly rude, and do not care about providing any measurable level of customer service. The building itself is showing its age. And corporate maintenance doesnt give the local people any money to upgrade anything. Common area ceilings and walls are discolored and damaged. The grills are often not working. Only two of the treadmills ever work in the gym, and they have cut way back on landscaping - they replace dead bushes and grass with mulch. Pictures online were taken eight years ago. It is clear this place is not what it used to be. And they dont care. Corporate just wants to suck every penny out of people and not provide a luxury service. Take your money elsewhere. And corporate Avalon - empower the people who work on site at the actual property. Give them a budget to improve the common areas and spend more on maintenance. At least renewals back in the office and not with corporate.

If there is a chance you may need to live somewhere more than one year, DO NOT LIVE at AVALON ARLINGTON NORTH. Avalon simply does not care about residents that want to live here more than one year. Zero loyalty. They will raise your rent more than you can ever imagine (over 25% rent increase for me and two of my neighbors). The renewal specialist will not be nice about the increase - they are actually condescending and rude. Renewal customer service is nonexistent. Their renewal people are outsourced to what I assume is another country since Taylor clearly doesnt speak like a normal American that knows customer service. Its all form letters with zero personal response. Renewal with the corporate office is painful and Im not renewing because of this horrible experience (cant I just talk to the front office?). And this is NOT a luxury apartment building. Maybe when it was built, but not now. The building is showing its age and they are not doing a good job of maintaining it. Landscaping is simply covering bad areas with mulch instead of re-planting grass. Plants are dead. Common area walls and ceilings have random discoloration. Party room TVs, never work, half of the treadmills are broken, the grills only work half the time, and many more common area issues. They generally they dont care too much about keeping the place well-maintained - its gone downhill fast. Walls and floors are paper thin and you hear everything. Dont be fooled it is not a luxury building.
