Located approximately 47 miles north of downtown Seattle along Interstate 5, Arlington is a small city with a lot of heart. Home to approximately 18,200 people, this small town revolves around its quaint downtown and thrives on its close proximity to glacier-fed rivers and world-class mountains. With Vancouver, B.C., to the north and Seattle to the south, urban escapes are never that far out of reach, either. If you're looking for a great community in the Pacific Northwest to settle into, look for apartments for rent in Arlington.
Arlington was the historic home of the Stillaguamish tribe, a band of the Salish tribes that thrived on the region's natural resources. When first platted, modern-day Arlington was a combination of both Arlington and Haller City, with the two towns waging a bitter competition for resources for many years.
Arlington eventually won out, and today the well-connected city is home to a number of great business and job opportunities. Top employers in Snohomish County include the Naval Station Everett, Cascade Valley Hospital, Boeing, and the Tulalip Tribes Enterprises.
Residents who commute to Seattle can use Sound Transit, a regional commuter and light rail service, as well as Snohomish County bus routes that span throughout the area.
Arlington is proud to support the arts, and one of the best places for residents to enjoy local dramatic and fine art exhibits and performances is the Byrnes Performing Arts Center.
Every winter, residents of Arlington show their respect for nature and local wildlife with the Eagle Festival. The eagles make an annual return to the Stillaguamish River as a seasonal eating ground. In addition to eagle sightings, residents enjoy rafting opportunities, wildlife shows, and live entertainment from local performers and musicians.
