Located just northwest of Milwaukee and northeast of the capital city of Madison, Hartford has the small town feel many apartment renters are looking for. Living in Hartford
Back in 1843, two men surveyed the area that later became the town of Hartford. A year later, the men returned, bought 40 acres of land and began building a town. When the railroad was laid in 1855, neighborhoods began sprouting all along the rails. As the vast majority of settlers were from the New England colonies, the town was named for the well-known Connecticut city.
While the town has had steady growth since the 1800s, today the population is just over 14,000 people spread between two Wisconsin counties. Apartments for rent are plentiful in the area and located near many recreational, educational and work-related facilities.
For a good time, apartment renters in the area enjoy many relaxing recreational activities. For those looking for a relaxing day under the sun, Erin Hills is a public golf course that will host the 2017 United States Open. Maybe your tastes run to the more artistic side of relaxation. In this case, you can rent a place near the Schauer Arts & Activities Center. This arts center boasts a number of show rooms, meeting rooms and a top-notch bill of comedians, plays and art galleries. The beautiful Holy Hill church and complex is considered one of the most majestic buildings in the Midwest.

The Richard Bong State Recreation Area is an amazing display of Midwestern foliage and wild animals. Children especially love this nature area and local schools often conduct field trips to Bong Recreation Area.
There is no bus system in the city, but public transportation is available via the Hartford City Taxi, a shared-ride service of the City Recreation Department. The vans are wheelchair-accessible. Most neighborhood residents drive in the city, and Highway 60 runs through town.
